Multiplied Pages of Holy Enjoyment

Don't let the title, 'Mystical Verse' turn you off. This book is orthodox. But it's on fire, with a sweet holy fire that might bring you to tears. Break it open and find yourself captivated by Tozer's collection of amazing metered expressions of praise to the Living God. Watts, the Wesleys, Rosetti, Guyon, Cowper and various others join from many different centures in this little book, all singing one song: glory to the Lord.
Among all the various poets and hymnists represented, I feel that Frederick W. Faber stands like a giant. Delicious, metered, creative torrents of praise and wonder roll fresh off his pen, in broken-hearted praise to the Thrice-Holy.
For example, an excerpt from 'The Vision of the Godhead':
...And beautiful dread Attributes, all manifold and bright
Now thousands seem, now lose themselves in one self-living light;
And far in that deep Life of God, in harmony complete
Like crowned kings, all opposite perfections take their seat...
Or, in 'Desire of God':
...For the lack of desire is the ill of all ills
Many thousands through it the dark pathway have trod
The balsam, the wine of predestinate wills
is a jubilant pining and longing for God.
The book is worth searching for and finding. I had read it from our local library (which no longer carries it) many years ago. Only recently did I find one here at Amazon which was within my price range. Find it and enjoy, to the poetic praise of God in Christ Jesus!

A MAGNIFICENT BOOK OF SOARING, MYSTICAL POETRY

How sad that this wonderful and inspiring selection of some of the world's greatest Christian and mystical poetry and hymns is now out of print and so hard to find anywhere...even on the Net.
Tozer does a splendid job of quoting the greatest poets and hymnists of the Christian Faith on the most important subject ever contemplated by Man: WHO/WHAT IS GOD ? ... and WHAT IS TRUE LOVE AND WORSHIP OF GOD ?
Your life will be truly enriched by reading these magnificent poems.
Tozer was one man who deep within his heart KNEW the realities of which these soaring, inspired poems speak so elequently.
