Beautiful Book of Authentic Chinese Cuisine

This is a book with beautiful photos of authentic Chinese cuisine. Most folks are accustomed to
Americanized Chinese cuisine, but Chinese cuisine is actually as varied from north to south, east to
west as this book is beautiful.
If you want to make Cantonese Char Siu or if you want to make Barbecue Pork, this book shows you how
to do it. If you want Taiwanese Three-Cup Chicken, you also get the ingredients and steps for that.
This book has sections devoted just to seafood, just to rice, just to dim sum, and just to desserts. It
gives you a balanced view.
Cooking is not about sticking to a rigid formula from a cook book, but about putting little bits and
pieces together and getting creative. This book whispers to you how certain recipes are made. It will
inspire you to expand your horizons on Chinese cooking.

Authentic Chinese (Hong Kong-ese) recipies

I completely disagreed with the reviewer with the one star. It looks like he might be talking about a different book.
I was born in Hong Kong and came to the states when I was 13 years old with my parents and siblings. I am now married with children and often yearn for the food from my childhood. While my Jewish husband is a fantastic chief, he share none of my memories. Instructions from my mom in chinese is a little difficult to translate. With this cookbook (and some translated tutoring from mom), my husband is able to reproduce some of my well remembered recipes and was even able to impress my parents.
Now I am looking to get one of this book for my brother.
