'This lovely book is clearly written by someone who has been immersed in reading faces all her life and who spent twenty years before writing it, studying further from Chinese medical and other texts and from family members. It clearly lays out all the theories and principles of face reading, mostly relating to understanding personality ( but also in a final chapter to medical diagnosis) and illustrates these with numerous black and white and colour photographs.
This is simply the best book on face reading that we have seen, and if the subject fascinates you, you just have to get it.'

Interesting...wish I had purchased the hard copy

I love my Kindle reader, but some books are better in hard copy, and this is one of them. I view the book as a reference one that you may read from cover to cover, but more than likely you will want to look things up. It is difficult to do that in the Kindle format.
Unfamiliar with Chinese medicine, I had a hard time maintaining reference points, I kept thinking through my Western understanding and found something's confusing, again, probably would do better being able to "thumb" back a few pages to reconnect.

Unique, modern and ancient knowledge about Chinese Facial Diagnostics!

With "Face Reading in Chinese Medicine - Second Edition" professor Lillian Pearl Bridges has expanded and deepened the ancient Chinese Facial Diagnosis with her unique, extensive, modern and new knowledge. Making diagnoses is much easier and more precise by using its in-depth information about emotions and organ disturbances according to the Five Elements in Chinese Medicine. I use this valuable diagnostic method daily in my practice of acupuncture and physiotherapy in the Netherlands.
It was an honor to me that my friend Lillian asked me to make all the color photos which are published in this book and in February 2013 I will travel to Los Angeles to follow her first Master Face Reading Program! Also to learn more about how to recognize in the face what kind of capacities someone has inherited and how that information can help a person on his or her (Golden) Path!
The book is indispensable for all acupuncturists, all specialists/therapists in Oriental Medicine and Philosophy, for any person who is interested in this field and a must for the Western trained physician to gain new insights to use in the every day practice. You see so much better who you're talking with and what that person has experienced in life. Clients love to hear what you tell about them because it's so impressive and right!
The Second Edition gives lots of information about the Five Elements, Taoism, Shen, mental problems but also about organ problems and for example showing where to recognize neck and back problems on the nose! While doing an intake and watching your client you are diagnosing already!
This profound book is written in very clear and legible English. A must have with a beautiful hardcover and 230 new photos!

A gem of a book regarding face reading. Ms. Bridges has perfected her original work. This is the best book on face reading out there. I highly recommend anyone who wants to learn about face reading ordering this book. Awesome!
